We’re excited about the opportunity to help you monetize and optimize your YouTube channel through MusicYes. Your YouTube channel is central to your revenue generation, and by connecting to our Content Management System (CMS), you unlock powerful monetization tools and protection for your music.
This email provides a step-by-step guide on: Why connecting your YouTube channel is important
YouTube’s monetization requirements (4,000 watch hours & 1,000 subscribers)
What content is allowed and prohibited
How we assist with the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) & monetization
What to do if you’re already in YPP or with another distributor
Roll-up process, avoiding account terminations & additional YouTube features
By following these steps, you’ll ensure a smooth connection, proper monetization, and compliance with YouTube’s policies while avoiding risks of demonetization, content violations, or account bans.
Your YouTube channel is a key source of digital music revenue. When connected to our CMS, we help you:
Monetize Your Content Efficiently – Ensure maximum revenue from your videos.
Protect Your Music Rights – Prevent unauthorized use of your music and claims.
Ensure Long-Term Growth – Keep your channel compliant with YouTube’s policies.
However, YouTube has strict rules, and failing to comply can result in: Demonetization – YouTube disabling ad revenue.
Copyright Strikes – Which can lead to channel termination if unresolved.
Invalid References & Termination – Content violations can terminate your channel from our CMS, harming our ecosystem.
That’s why full compliance is required before connecting your channel.
To connect your channel to MusicYes, it must meet YouTube’s eligibility criteria for monetization:
1,000 Subscribers
4,000 Watch Hours in the Last 12 Months
If your channel meets these requirements but you have not applied for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), connect your channel first.
We will handle the monetization request for you.
YouTube generally approves monetization within a week, depending on their workload.
YouTube closely evaluates channels submitted through MusicYes, meaning they will approve it quickly if it’s well-structured and compliant.
If there are problems, YouTube will deny monetization, so it's crucial to follow all content rules.
Unlike standard YouTube monetization, you do not need to set up an AdSense account. Our CMS connection handles monetization automatically—if your channel is approved.
If any issues arise, our YouTube specialists will assist you in addressing them before reapplying.
Additionally, connecting with MusicYes gives you access to premium ad placements, including: Skippable and non-skippable video ads
Display and overlay ads
YouTube Premium revenue
Other ad formats YouTube may roll out in the future
If your channel is already monetized and part of YPP, we can roll it up into our CMS.
This allows you to join our network without removing your AdSense connection.
We request the roll-up tool at the end of each month and complete the process within a week.
Our YouTube specialists will contact you and guide you through the process.
Sometimes, manual approval is required for roll-up if:
Our team will guide you step by step in these cases.
If your channel is currently connected to another distributor, you must request them to remove the connection before we can proceed.
We will work directly with you and your current distributor to ensure a smooth transition.
We may already know contacts within your existing distributor and can assist in expediting the process.
Before we proceed, you must confirm that your previous distributor has properly taken down your content.
Our YouTube specialists will guide you step-by-step for a seamless transfer.
To qualify for MusicYes, your channel must comply with YouTube’s copyright and content policies.
No Copyright Claims – These prevent monetization. Resolve them before connecting.
No Copyright Strikes – These must be removed before connecting (strikes last 90 days).
No Demonization Issues – If your channel is demonetized, delete it or remove all content and start fresh before connecting.
No Reused or Duplicate Content – Even if you have the rights to use content, YouTube does not allow reused videos for monetization. All content must be original.
No Compilations – Compilation videos are strictly forbidden.
If you see other channels posting compilations, they are short-lived and will likely disappear from YouTube soon. YouTube discourages compilation channels and instead wants creators to use Playlists.
If you have audio but no video content (e.g., older releases without music videos), do not create compilations.
Instead, make a lyric video for each track and create a playlist of those videos.
This is the proper way to structure content on YouTube, and it will ensure your channel stays compliant.
MusicYes does not allow compilations, and channels that contain them will not be accepted.
